Finally, some have the integrity to stand firm for the gospel!
As a Christian and a conservative, I, for one, will not vote for Romney under any circumstance, and counsels others to do the same.
Thank you for your stand, brother. Christ is our King and I will sign on with Him and you — not this charade!
Let us stand for the Gospel
I am proud to stand with all of you. :0) Vote Ron Paul :0D!!!
Very often the choices that life (in God’s providence) presents to us are not between good and evil but between a great evil and a lesser evil; and often it is difficult to discern which of the evils is the lesser! In this case, I believe Romney is the lesser, for the following reasons: (1) Although he has expressed the wrong (i.e., liberal) ideas on such matters as climate change and health care, two modifications are in order: (a) he is an opportunist who can change if enough pressure is applied; and it is also possible that he can change his mind sincerely, based upon sufficient evidence. (b) Although he is to some extent Obama Lite, we cannot afford to re-elect Obama Heavy. (2) His Mormon identity is (or can be) largely irrelevant to the work of governing, as his position as governor of MA shows. Analogy: if you know that a Mormon is the owner of a restaurant or gas station or other commercial establishment, would you refuse to buy from it only on that basis? Would the Mormonism of the owner have any effect on his service? Would you go to a Mormon doctor, lawyer, or accountant if he were expert in his profession? I would, if there were no Christian alternative. (3) Finally, his Mormon identity, although it is safely irrelevant to the performance of presidentiial duties, creates a terrific opportunity for proclaiming the true Gospel as never before! Do you see what a conversation piece it creates for the next four years? It can result in the conversion of many Mormons.
For these reasons, I cannot agree with those who say that they will not vote for him “under any circumstances.” Those who say that need to be told that their abstinence on voting day is equivalent to a vote for Obama Heavy.
Should Romney take the oath of office for President of the United States, as a Mormon he would certainly place his hand on the Book of Mormon. Salt Lake City will then cheer, and heaven will weep at our fall as a nation.
Had a family member that became a Mormon. It split the family apart as they no longer associated with us Christian “heathen.”
Anyone who would give credibility to one individual’s claim to have been given a special and authoritative revelation from God shows he is capable of believing anything. Even Jesus Christ never required anyone to believe in His authority blindly, without offering irrefutablke proofs of His special position such as countless super-natural miracles and super-naturally inspired parables and teachings that have the ring of truth and speak directly to the very heart of man in a way no other man has ever dobe that, proving He knew man’s heart in a way no other man has ever known it. Also to confirm His special authority He fullfilled precisely countless prophecies in His life, death and especially His resurrection from the grave. One profesy He made Himself was that He would rise from the grave after 3 days! Then He did it. This all very different from Mr. Joe Smith!
Joe Smith offers his followers no proofs to support his astonishing assertions about God and the universe. As with the followers of Mohammed and Bhudda, Mormons must exercise blind faith that their “prophet” is speaking the truth. They are never to actually investigate and enquire into the proofs of their prophet’s authority. That is just given.
Voting for a man who accepts Joe Smith’s assertions blindly is ok. But anyone who does vote for him should do so knowing and accepting that this man lacks intellectual judgement in the most basic matters of life. But the same could be argued about his political opponent who seems to be equally enamoured with the with his own mind as Mr Rommney appears to be with Joe Smith’s ramblings.
I thank you for putting this document together and watch and pray to see hopefully many Christian leaders and others sign.
Soli Deo gloria
The ignorance and bigotry in this country is astounding… God help us all.
Jesus said, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” (Matt 12:30 ESV)It is utterly shameful that people who call themselves Christian would put together a document like this and sign it. “If you construct and worship the golden calf of “beating Obama”, make sure to tell people you are really a Christian and you do not go for that Mormon stuff. But you will make sure our nation is rescued by its people voting for a cultist since God could not do it with people who are true to Him and refuse to make an alliance with a cultist.
Under no circumstances could I vote for Romney for pastor or Sunday school teacher. He’d approach our pulpit over my dead body. Conservative & libertarian friends–that is not what he’s running for. To not vote for Romney is to vote to expedite our country’s grueling economic suicide.
Are double standards at work? Is any vote now to be taken as a endorsement of someone’s theology? When voting for public officials, is their theology preeminent? Or is, as Martin Luther has been so often quoted, “a wise Turk” to be preferred to a “foolish Christian” in these cases?
Yes, I’ll hold my nose and vote for a Mormon moderate over a Socialist any day.
The United Brethren Community Fellowship has declared Forty Days of Prayer and Fasting for the leaders of our country and for the whole estate of Christ’s church as Christians now find themselves facing the toughest choices which they have ever faced in their lifetimes as voting citizens of the United State of America. The United Brethren Community Fellowship has stepped up their prayers for and donations to the Utah Lighthouse Ministry and other groups with a proven record for sharing the Gospel message with those who have been deceived by the false gospel messages being promoted by the LDS Church, and other false gospel messages. Please join us as we pray:“Heavenly Father, we lift up our prayers today for all those who are afflicted or troubled in any way. Send the light of Your Gospel to shine upon all nations. Send heavenly guidance from your Holy Word to help as many as have received the Gospel to live in such a way that their lives will bring honor to the Gospel. Be gracious to all who gather together to honor Jesus as Lord and Savior today. Be in our midst and enable every member to discover the vocation and ministry which is Your plan for our lives. Send the light of Your Word to guide us all in faithful service. Bless all who have been placed in positions of authority. Send heavenly guidance to rule the hearts and strengthen the minds of all leaders. Bless the hearts of all leaders with heavenly benevolence and teach them the best way to deal with wickedness and vice. Send heavenly wisdom to guide and direct all who work to protect the weak and oppressed. Send heavenly blessings to reward all who seek to walk in paths of righteousness, goodness, virtue and mercy for the Lord’s sake. Send down blessings, temporal and spiritual, upon all our relations, friends, and neighbors. Reward all who have done good. And abundantly pardon all those who have experienced a sincere repentance and have called upon the name of Your dear son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for forgiveness and salvation. Tenderly guide and direct all of those who are just beginning to live a new life in fellowship with Christ Jesus. Be merciful to all who are in any trouble, whether it is temporal or spiritual. Send faithful ministers to assist all those who are in any kind of need — for the sake of Your dear Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, who went about doing good. Wherever there are those who are sincerely and earnestly seeking to know the Lord and to discover the mercy, grace and salvation which will set them free, provide them with divine inspiration, providential guidance and benevolent direction so that they may come to know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that Jesus provides the only pathway to the Heavenly Father’s throne of grace. Now we receive the Holy Spirit to guide, direct, teach, comfort and intercede for us, as the Lord Jesus promised during His ministry on earth. — Amen — In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit — Amen — In the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Son of God — Amen!”
“Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your promise to guide the meek in judgment and to send Your Word to light the pathways for all those who trust in Your name. Grant to us, in the midst of all of our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what You would have us to do, so that the Spirit of Wisdom may save us from all false choices. We have faith that in Your light, we will see light. And in Your straight path, we will not stumble. Heavenly Father, we thank You and praise You because, in Your infinite wisdom, You have set the solitary in families. Now we ask You to watch over all the homes where Your name is honored. Bless all those families who have trusted in Your holy name and shed abroad in those homes the benefits of genuine unity, generous affection and abiding love. Fill Your children with the spirit of faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, kindness and patience – and bless them all with tender hearts. Knit together in constant affection all those who, in holy wedlock, have been made one flesh. Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children. And turn the hearts of the children to the fathers. Enkindle fervent charity in the hearts of all those who have faith in Your name and bring them together with affection and brotherly love. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessings and joy which come with the care of children. Give all parents the light and strength to so train their children in the way that they should go, that when they are old, the children will NOT depart from following the Lord. Bless with heavenly guidance all parents who are working to teach their children to love whatever things are pure, lovely and of good report, following the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We ask You to be present now wherever two or three are gathered together to honor Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Heavenly Father, help us always to remember that You have given us the most important task in all the world – the task of establishing homes which have been built on a strong foundation of love for the Savior. Bless parents with the ability to become an example and a friend to their children. Bless all mothers and fathers with true generosity of spirit and a clear vision of the partnership which they share in listening together for the still, small voice of the Lord to guide and direct their family. Keep us ever mindful of the lessons which Jesus taught about the importance of children in the kingdom of heaven. Bless parents with the ability to make their homes such a haven of peace and good will that the family will always be eager to come back to that home. Bless children with the ability to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord so that they will one day be prepared to establish their own homes and fill those homes with happy childhood memories and heavenly assurances of love and security. Now we receive the Holy Spirit to guide, direct, teach, comfort and intercede for us, as the Lord Jesus promised during His ministry on earth. – Amen – In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – Amen – In the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Son of God – Amen!
I am still not convinced that I will vote for a Mormon, though I feel to sign this petition with those who I respect does clarify that I do not agree with Romney’s religion and wish to distinguish that I do not stand with his cult in approval, in case I finally decide all I can do is vote for him because he is the only choice that runs the chance to win against the man in office now, who seems to be more anti-christian. I am very concerned to put any man in office that I cannot trust as is well stated below – yet this has happened over and over again regardless of my and many other’s votes. To NOT vote at all is a great crime. Somehow this petition has freed me to consider Romney where before I couldn’t. The Gospel must be contended earnestly for and at all costs!
God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Its good to see that as the USA seems to have the two options to vote for as their new president being limited to a Muslim/Black power/Communist/Feminist incumbent or a Mormon/Liberal challenger it has encouraged Christians to define the gospel of God more accurately.
We need to get back to the fundamentals of our faith before we see it smeared with every kind of “strange fire” (Leviticus 10:1) that the false prophets are trying to bring into the Church. The following are a basic guide for us to use as a checklist for our gospel.
1. God is a Holy God and He calls on us to be holy (Hebrews 12: 14, etc.)
2. All have sinned and fallen under God’s judgment of eternal condemnation to suffer for our sins in the fires of hell (Romans 3: 23; Mark 9: 47).
3. God has given the elect to the Son for whom He died for their sins and will keep them and raise them up on the last day. They know His voice and come to Him (John 6: 43-45; 10: 4).
4. Christians have a responsibility to preach the gospel, both verbally and in their holy living, for the salvation of the elect and for the judgment of the world because of its rejection of the truth (2 Timothy 3: 10-4: 5; 2 Corinthians 2: 14-17).
5. Christ commanded His Church to observe and therefore teach all that He commanded or taught the disciples, including repentance from sin, faith in His name and Baptism as a sign of their obedience (Matthew 28: 18-20).
6. Worship is to include teaching, fellowship, communion and prayer as its basic and main forms (Acts 2: 42). All other forms will follow on from obedience to the Commandments, e.g. giving to the poor, etc.
7. Church Elders need to be qualified (1 Timothy 3) and judge each other and those of their group who fall into sin with open rebuke so that others may fear and either live by faith or leave as an apostate before their apostasy becomes an open shame. (1 Corinthians 5: 12; 1 Timothy 5: 20)
There is no scriptural example of one man being given oversight in any local Church as it is fraught with many dangers including pride and dictatorship by a man where we should have a theocracy. Even Peter was rebuked by Christ for his self trust (Matthew 16: 23). This form of Church leadership comes from the Roman army through the RCC.
8. The scriptures (OT and NT) are our final guide in matters of dispute and should be regarded as the infallible and inerrant word of God to man. The book of Mormon and the Q’ran need to be judged by it and will be found as erroneous. (2 Timothy 3: 16-17)
The paranoia and fear mongering in alot of these comments is quite laughable. Though I do not believe as Mormons do, I have actually looked into their beliefs, and know that a majority of the so called doctrines listed on this site are not official doctrines of Mormonism, but personal opinions of mostly former leaders. I would bet that most Christians have not looked into the beliefs of Mormons, but just blindly take the word of their Pastors, etc., just as they accuse Mormons of doing with their leaders. Not trying to defend Mormons here, just dislike rantings of uninformed bashers who claim to be following Christ.
Since we seem to be talking about Mormons and their cult, remember, the RLDS sect of this group touts their “Christianity” too! They adhere to the same Book of Mormon, their “Doctrines and Covenants” and say they beleive in the Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible! The Community of Christ Church is dangerous and growing and they persuade by “loving you in”, but leave their church, and they will show you how much “shunning” can be effective on a saddened heart, I know. Mormons to the core and people need to be just as aware of them as their Mormon brothers!
There you go. We need a petition to sign that says if you endorse or vote for a socialist Muslim, make sure to qualify that by letting the world know you still believe in and support the Gospel. And if you commit adultery or murder or blaspheme the Name of the Lord or worship idols, just make sure to sign this paper saying you still support the Gospel. I’m sure his highness Hussein and his Reverend Wright would be glad to sign on. Maybe we can even get the Pope to bless this formalism and mockery of true belief and trust in Christ as our King.
Smile – No one here is suggesting that anyone vote for Obama under any circumstances, redneck4Christ. I think you are missing the point….
“For the sake of the Gospel, we, the undersigned, call upon Christian leaders and their respective ministries and organizations, if you plan on endorsing Governor Mitt Romney for the office of President of the United States, do so by clearly and unequivocally distancing yourself and Biblical Christianity from his Mormon beliefs.”
What would an endorsement mean but an encouragement to vote for the heretic?
I’d vote for Obama before I’d vote for Romney!! That’s fer sure, that’s fer dang sure!
If he asks Hillary to be his VP, it’s pretty much a done deal.
If Obama were truly a Muslim, there would be a fatwa against him because a Muslim cannot convert to Christianity. Obama holds himself out to be a Christian. He was raised by a Christian grandmother. His father had very little to do with his upbringing.
This is a rabbit trail off the main point but here you go:
1st, Obama has proven by words and actions he is not truly Christian, he favors Muslims in terms of their holidays, and can recite very well their mantras.
2nd, it was his step-father who led him into the Muslim faith and registered him into a Catholic school as a Muslim. Here are quotes from an article documenting his history:
“Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia” – implying he was an irregularly practicing Muslim.”Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said” – confirming that he did pray in the mosque.”Obama’s 3rd-grade teacher at the Catholic school, who lived near the family [said that] ‘Rarely, Barry went to the mosque with Lolo’” – confirming that Obama attended mosque services.
Sounds like the Koran of Hate is being quoted here. Demonizing Rev. Wright, (former USMC) casting aspersions from shady data about the POTUS….
Not having a decent understanding of Romans 13……
Be a RedNeck all you want, and hope you are happing twisting scripture to match your political viewpoints.
Dude. Obama is not muslim. That is COMPLETELY uneducated and wrong. He goes to a Christian church. He is MORE Christian than the cult leader Romney!!!!
“Other Anti-Christian Doctrines taught by Mormons”
You need to be careful about using this one as part of your
argument. That the Mormons worship a different Jesus than most Christians is
without question, but as an American History professor, I can tell you that
earlier Mormon statements made about blacks stemming from the curse of Cain was
almost universally accepted by 18th and 19th century American Christians. The
earliest anti-slavery document in American history, The Selling of Joseph by
Samuel Sewell, (very prominent Puritan) is trying to fight against this
Christian notion that blacks came from Cain as early as 1700. Just stick to the
doctrinal differences. They are enough, don’t get into the tangential
historical issues because us Christians don’t come off too well on those
I will hold my nose and vote for Romney only because I cannot bear the thought of another four years of Obama. That being said, I am not optimistic about the future of our nation.
Usually when there is what appears to be only two choices and that this choice is simply choosing between the lesser or two evils, at least there is usually a wider gulf between the two evils than we have here. Jerry is most correct when he observes that these two evils seem to be evenly balanced. My problem with Mormonism isnt the rank and file Mormon. One has to pity them, as they are a flock who has been led astray by a false shepard. And they are being led – but led to the slaughter house, not to pasture. There are many arguments against Mormonism, but none so clear and simple as the basic precept upon which Mormonism was founded; that a man found tablets from GOD Almighty – and destroyed them.
Thats really all you need to know about it.
America is a pluralistic nation. In America we can believe what we want without interference from other religions. Christianity is not a patented religion nor is the Bible copyrighted. God is whoever you want him to be; a supreme being or just a divine errand boy or something in between. Mormonism is a very creative religion and all of the Mormons that I have met are very good people. Mormonism is also one of the fastest growing Christian churches so they must be doing something right.
I like the Mormon’s belief that you can have your own planet. Science has indicated that there are billions of planets out there so there should be enough to go around. I just hope they don’t run out of virgin boys.
John 3:16 alone should destroy the Mormon belief that God had other “sons,” such as Lucifer. Read further:
John 1:14, John 1:18, John 3:18, 1 John 4:9.
I must tell you that I was politically active at the age of 18, and
voted, and was an Electing Precinct Chairman for the Republican party in
Texas. I voted in every election, local and for President since the
age of 18. However, I did not vote in the last Presidential Election,
believing the worse possible offerings the nation had ever produced
between McCain and a Muslim, Obama. I was determined to vote against
this gay Muslim President, until they offered to us a Mormon. Again, I
will not vote. I cannot with a clear conscious vote for either of these
two antiChristian men. Our nation has been hijacked by the ungodly:
first by George W. Bush, who stole two elections, and then completely
by the Press who would not give Ron Paul a voice, and was quick to
“anoint” Mitt Romney as Obama’s running mate, before it was ever
Mormons, along with other false “Christians,” such as the Roman
Catholic “church,” the great Whore of Revelation 17, Baal worshipers
all, deceived in believing they are truly Christian, and these false
systems of “worship” deny that the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the
Only Way to God the Father, and that Grace, alone, by faith alone, in
the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth alone, is the Command of Holy
Scripture to the Elect of God, His True Worshipers, His Church.
They seek to deny the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth His divinity.
They seek to make Him, at least these Mormons do, along with God the
Father a mere man alone. They fail to see simple Truths, such as the
Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth being One with God, John 10:30; that the
Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth was the creator God, the very Son of God,
the Word of God, John 1:1-3, they fail to see the Lord Jesus Christ of
Nazareth as the great, “I Am He”, which one must believe or will die in
their sins. http://www.alemattec.com/I%20AM%20HE.doc
This is part of one’s confession of the Lord Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, John 14:6, Romans 10:9, along with believing the Lord Jesus
Christ of Nazareth is the Lord of Hosts (Armies,)
etc . . . , and believing in one’s heart, that God has raised Him from
the Dead, and that The Lord Jesus Christ Himself had raised Himself from
the dead: Matthew 28:18, John 10:17. Not the soft, false man centered
“gospel,” of man by his own sovereign “right” comes to choose God.
The Protestant “churches” today that are Harlots, who follow after
Rome, including the cult “churches” such as Scientists, Mormon, Jehovah
Witness, etc . . . “as all roads lead to Rome” have one thing in common:
they are of satan, and do his will. They deny the complete Lordship
of the Might God, the Comforter of Israel, the Lord Jesus Christ of
Again, I sign the document, but will not vote in the upcoming
Presidential election. Pray, that God’s Will is done, in that all
things are by God the Father’s Will, and His Will is always done.
Paul (<:) Jesus first!
The LDS chuch doubles in size every 15 years, taking 250,000 converts a year mostly from Protestant churches. With the most important man in the world as their chief ambassador–God forbid–how much greater will be their conversion rate and how much more rapidly will they double in size? Answer: If Romney becomes President, you won’t be able to swing a dead cat without hitting a Mormon. Be wise, beware.
What I gather is, it’s OK to support a Mormon candidate as long as I am not deceived or accept their theological assertions that are contrary to scripture.
They also believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. Anyone but Romney is my election year motto.
I have no qualm voting for a Jewish candidate because of Judaism. The Shema says it all.
From the book of Jude: “Contend for the faith once earnestly delivered to the saints”… I think that scripture tells us alot. Also, Jesus warned us many times “beware that no one deceives you.” In addition to Him warning us we have the Apostle Peter warning us about false teachers, Paul telling us that after he departed that he just knew that ravenous wolves would come after the flock, Paul telling Timothy that in the last days that christians would not listen to sound doctrine anymore but turn aside to fables….why aren’t we heeding the Word of God?
I can not vote Romney, or Obama! If you check out this web site you will see that when Mitt Romney was gov, in Mass they now have gay marriage, Romney care, which provides abortion’s for free or $50 co-pay! He is a deacon in an cult tha blasphemes our Lord! I would say that was more than enough reason’s why not to vote for him, or Obama! One other as president of the U.S. he represents us, I shudder the thought, NOT WITH MY VOTE! Lord please have mercy on us Christian’s and get us out of here now, please Lord! Amen!
